Welcome to EcoFamilyOdyssey, a family of 5 looking to simplify life and explore the country. We recently sold our first house, of 8 years, to move into our newly renovated 32ft. Keystone travel trailer. We had plans of traveling for the summer of 2020, but things have significantly changed for most of us. So for now we’re staying put and enjoying life simplified as a tight-knit family (literally). We hope to provide tips and tricks for: RV life and RV renovations, downsizing and simplifying, Eco-friendly and family living, and updates on our travel and life plans.
Ryan – Dad
Ryan is currently a middle school Spanish teacher. Although he has a Bachelors in Anthropology, he quickly grew tired of the “shovel bum” lifestyle, so he moved to be closer to Debbie and began courses to become a Spanish teacher. He has always loved the outdoors and his newest interest is woodworking. Ryan is very handy and can out-research anyone on any topic. He’s also an awesome husband and father! Ryan can’t wait to see new places and to spend his days with his family while traveling.
Debbie – Mom
Debbie is currently a stay-at-home mom, but before becoming a mother she spent 9 years as a public school music teacher. After a year of maternity leave, she decided to stay home full-time with her daughter. Almost 3 years later, she thinks she may finally have a small grasp on this full-time parent thing. While RV traveling, Debbie is excited to see new State and National Parks, meet up with family and friends, and meet new people.
Dorothy – Daughter
Dorothy is almost 3 years old and is our little butterfly. Some of her favorite things include being outside, water, Daniel Tiger, dancing, music, legos, shoes, cheese and making people laugh. She also loves her Lucy dog, Lorenzo cat, and her mommy and daddy. Dorothy can’t wait to see new places, hike new trails, and play in new waters while traveling in the RV. “There’s so much to explore when you’re outside” – Daniel Tiger
Lucy – Dog
Lucy became part of the family in 2014 (our 2nd child) and instantly fit right in. She is a mutt comprised of mostly Rottweiler and English Setter and she LOVES everybody. Some of her favorite things include being outside exploring, dinner time, and licking her entire family, except Lorenzo; why won’t he give in?! Lucy looks forward to exploring new streams and sniffing new places while traveling in the RV.
Lorenzo – Cat
Lorenzo came to live with us shortly after we got married, in 2011, and became our 1st child. Although now 1 of 3 children, he is still the boss most of the time. He likes to spend his time sleeping, watching the birds and squirrels, and meticulously avoiding his two sisters. Lorenzo does not look forward to the moving part of traveling, but will enjoy the new sights in the RV once stationary.
